Spicy Middle Eastern Chicken Skewers

A different take on chicken skewers

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Moroccan seasoning spice mix
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 750g chicken thigh fillets, trimmed
  • 12 bamboo skewers
  • Tzatziki dip & warmed flour tortillas, to serve


  1. Combine lemon juice, spice mix, garlic and olive oil in a large ceramic bowl. Whisk to combine. Cut chicken into 2cm pieces. Add chicken and stir to coat. Cover and refrigerate for 3-4 hours.
  2. Meanwhile, soak bamboo skewers in cold water for 1 hour. Drain the excess marinade from chicken and thread onto skewers.
  3. Preheat barbecue plate or grill on medium-high.
  4. Barbecue skewers, turning occasionally until browned on all sides and cooked through.
