Piri Piri Chicken

This tasty chicken will want you going back for seconds

  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried chilli flakes
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 4 chicken marylands
  • Barbecue lemon wedges & salad, to serve


  1. Combine lemon juice, oil, chilli and garlic in large ceramic dish. Add chicken and turn to coat in marinade (see tip below). Cover and refrigerate 3 hours or overnight if time permits.
  2. Preheat barbecue to 200°C using indirect heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade. Place the chicken skin side up onto the flat plate. Close the barbecue hood and barbecue using indirect heat for 40-50 minutes or until chicken is golden and cooked through.
  3. Serving suggestion: Serve piri piri chicken with barbecue lemon wedges and salad.
