FAQs
- Always season the frypan before use (see below instructions). During normal use, allow frypan to pre-heat on MED/MAX setting before adding food. It is recommended that you season your frypan before use, then every few months during use to maintain the coating.
A little extra preparation before first use will get the most out of your DuraCeramic™ fryware. Following these steps will properly season the fryware ensuring superior food release and fast, easy clean up. Repeat the seasoning process every 4-6 months for optimum performance.
1. Spread 1 tablespoon oil (canola or vegetable) on to the base and sides of the fryware using paper towel or soft cloth to evenly coat the surface.
2. Heat on MIN temperature for 20 mins (or until fryware starts to smoke).
3. Turn off then let pan cool to room temperature and wipe away excess oil. Do not wash.
- For stubborn food build up, use a stainless steel powder cleaner and a nylon abrasive pad. It is then recommended that the frypan is seasoned before use. Rubbing a paste of bicarbonate of soda and water into the stained area is also helpful in removing stains.
- Metal utensils can be used however repeated use of knives, forks or spoons will eventually start to mark the cooking surface. We recommend using nylon or wooden utensils to maintain the polished surface finish.
- The frypan (with probe removed) and lid are dishwasher safe. The roasting rack should be washed in warm soapy water.
- When the lever is lowered into position the cooking pan tilts, so juices collect at one end of the pan. This means both hands are free for basting. It is also useful when serving food to easily collect food juices.
