You will need:

  • 20g butter, softened
  • 3 slices white bread
  • 3 slices cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 4 slices good quality ham
  • 4-6 pickle slices (optional)
  • Drizzle mayonnaise

Let's make it:

Step 1:

Turn on the Sunbeam Café Style 2-Slice Sandwich Press and Maker. Butter two slices of the bread (reserve 1 slice for later). Place on the grill, butter side down. Top the bread with a cheese slice, close and lock the grill so it is hovering just above the cheese. Grill until cheese melts, 3 minutes.

Step 2:

While the cheese is melting, cut a circle out of the 3rd slice of bread with a glass or biscuit cutter. When cheese has melted, remove cheesy toasts to a cutting board. Place the 3rd piece of bread onto the grill and crack an egg into the hole. Place a slice of cheese over the egg, close and lock the grill so it is hovering just above the cheese. Cook until egg is cooked to your liking (3 minutes for runny yolk, 4 minutes for hard yolk).

Step 3:

Create your toastie by layering cheese toast, ham and pickle slices (if using). Drizzle with mayo, top with the egg cheese toast, ham, pickles, another drizzle of mayo and the last piece of cheesy toast.

Cook's Tip:

You can use any bread for this recipe. We like it with fresh sourdough.
