You will need:
- 1 tablespoon butter (for the caramel)
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup thickened cream
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 400g tinned cooked apple
- 8 slices bread
- 100g butter, softened
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Let's make it:
Step 1:
Combine butter, brown sugar, cream and salt in a medium saucepan and place over a medium-high heat. Cook, stirring, for 3-4 minutes, or until bubbling and thickened.
Step 2:
Add tinned apple to the caramel sauce and stir to combine. Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly.
Step 3:
While the caramel sauce is cooling, butter all 8 slices of bread. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
Step 4:
Place 4 slices of bread, (cinnamon butter side down) into the Sunbeam Big Fill Toastie for 4. Divide apple caramel filling equally between the sliced bread before covering with the remaining slices of bread, cinnamon butter side up.
Step 5:
Close the lid of the Sunbeam Big Fill Toastie for 4 and cook, 4-5 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
Caution:
Please allow caramel apple pie jaffles to cool before eating as the filling is extremely hot!!!
