A scale will make your coffee better.
When making coffee you want to remove as many variables as possible.
One way to do this is by always having the exact same weight of coffee in your basket. For instance, we use between 18 - 20g for a double shot. So instead of adjusting both the dose and grind size, you can just focus on grind. That way, if you pull your shot and it’s coming out too fast, you just have to adjust your grind finer, but keep the amount of coffee the same.
Or if your coffee is coming out too slow, you just have to adjust a bit coarser. So the scale might seem complicated, but it actually makes things a whole lot easier and gives you more consistent coffee shots.
